James "Jim" Arthur Bacon (birth registered October→December 1896 in Newport district[1] — death unknown) was a Welsh rugby union and professional rugby league footballer of the 1910s and '20s, and coach of the 1920s, who at club level played rugby union (RU) for Cross Keys RFC, and at representative level played rugby league (RL) for Great Britain, and Wales, and at club level for Leeds, playing at Wing, or Centre, i.e. number 2 or 5, or, 3 or 4, and at club level has coached for Castleford.[2]

Jim Bacon won caps for Wales (RL) while at Leeds 1921…1927 6-caps, and won caps for Great Britain (RL) while at Leeds in 1920 against Australia (3 matches), and New Zealand (3 matches), in 1921 against Australia (2 matches), in 1922 against Australia, in 1924 against Australia, and in 1927 against New Zealand.[3] From 1921 until 1927 he also represented Wales, winning six caps.
Jim Bacon's marriage to Vera Tatterson was registered during April→June 1927 in Bramley distict.[4]
